Saturday, June 5th, 2010

We’ve been getting a lot of links to this video from you guys, so we thought that we would post it.

Check out a couple of very cute kids and some great video editing in this video cover of Lady Gaga and Beyonce’s “Telephone”

Wait for the disturbing part at the end when the child is walking across a bar with the liquor bottles in the background.

Gaga: Homosexuality Is Not a Choice

Sunday, March 21st, 2010

Lady Gaga is pissed at a lot of the people that are claiming her latest video, “Telephone” is “sadomasochistic” and believe that being gay is a choice. Over a few interviews Gaga says:

“There are transsexual women and transgender women and suddenly it becomes poisonous and something else because there are some people in this world that believe being gay is a choice. It’s not a choice, we’re born this way. That’s why for me this video is groundbreaking because it has one foot in the art community and one foot in the commercial world.

I told Beyonce this after it aired, you’ll see this video is not just great now but six months from now what this video will mean.

Hearing people say the video is sadomasochistic or that the video promotes murder for young people, it’s my personal belief that the video is getting so much attention, not because of those themes because I’ve done those themes before, haven’t I? I’ve done those themes in many of my videos but it’s because it’s with Beyonce and it’s because there are so many homosexual themes.

There are no rules or limits when it comes to love. But I see love as separate from sex.”

This probably has a lot to do with the recent Fox “News” video that was circulating around the internets. However, we agree with Gaga 100%! Way to stand up to adversity!

U.S. Billboard Chart Update (3.18.10)

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

This week on the charts, Gaga has continued to break records as “Telephone” becomes her 6th consecutive No.1 single. Gaga and Beyonce now tie Mariah Carey with most No.1 singles. “Telephone” also gains momentum in the Hot 100 chart, where it has reached a new peak of No.9. Also of interest is that “Paparazzi” has gained sales, most likely as a result of the “Telephone” video connection. “Telephone” should see more increase next week, as it currently sits at No.4 in the iTunes store.

Pomplamoose Cover “Telephone”

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

This is one of the more original covers of “Telephone” that has been sent our way and we really like it! Although they seem to be recording this song from the set of “The Shining” we still think it’s great. It lacks the energy of the original, but it still makes for a fun song.

“Telephone” Becomes Gaga’s 6th Consecutive No.1 Single (Officially)!

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

Billboard.com has finally reported what a lot of other sites (and Gaga herself) have jumped the gun about:

“Telephone” will be Gaga’s 6th consecutive No.1 single when the charts are released this week.

Rising from 2 to No.1, Gaga and Beyonce both individually tie Mariah Carey’s record of most No.1 Pop Songs singles. Mariah achieved 6 between 1993-2005.

Gaga has done it in 16 months:

“Just Dance” – January 24, 2009
“Poker Face” – April 25, 2009
“LoveGame” – July 25, 2009
“Paparazzi” – November 14, 2009
“Bad Romance” – January 16, 2010
“Telephone” – March 20, 2010

Beyonce’s 6 No.1 singles are:
“Crazy in Love” – Aug. 16, 2003
“Baby Boy” –  Nov. 8, 2003
“Check On It” – Feb. 11, 2006
“Irreplaceable” – Dec. 30, 2006
“Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” – Feb. 7, 2009
“Telephone” – March 20, 2010

Kind of incredible isn’t it!?

Congratulations to both artists (mainly Gaga) on these incredible successes!

Will “Alejandro” Video Continue “Telephone” Storyline?

Monday, March 15th, 2010

By now, if you didn’t know that “Telephone” was a continuation to the “Paparazzi” video storyline, you’ve been living under a rock!

Although we here at LadyGagaLive wouldn’t expect the “Alejandro” video to be a continuation, we’ve started to put some pieces together based off of the “Telephone” video that might just prove otherwise.

In the “Telephone” video, it seems that Lady Gaga and Beyonce are definitely in the south, presumably Texas, based off of the imagery. One of the last lines that Gaga has in the video is:

We did it Honey B. Now let’s go far, far away from here.

Now considering that Texas is so close to Mexico, and there are a few lyrics in “Alejandro” about Mexico (“hot like Mexico, rejoice”), wouldn’t it seem natural to take this storyline there?

I guess we’ll find out soon enough. “Alejandro” is the third single from “The Fame Monster” and is expected to be released sometime in May.
